Yesterday, June 10, the official presentation of the Aerospace and Space Cluster of Baja California (CEA-BC) was held, a significant event that marks a new stage for the aerospace industry in the region. During the event, the Board of Directors was sworn in, with its members playing a key role in strengthening the state’s specialized industrial ecosystem.
This launch represents a decisive boost for the growth of the aerospace and aeronautics sector in Baja California, supported by academic institutions, government authorities, and business sector representatives. The ceremony took place in Mexicali, reaffirming the strategic role of this city within the national aerospace value chain.
The CEA-BC Board of Directors is composed of:
• Eng. Sergio Pérez — President
• Eng. Ana Abarca — Secretary
• Eng. Daniel Hernández — Treasurer
• Eng. Erika Carrillo — Member
• Eng. Aldo Romero — Member
• Eng. Eduardo Rodarte — Member
• Eng. Abel Graciano — Member
The creation of the cluster responds to the need to coordinate joint efforts between companies, universities, and government, promoting the development of highly skilled talent, technological innovation, and the attraction of both national and international investment.
Based in Mexicali, the Aerospace and Space Cluster of Baja California is the first of its kind in the city and highlights the state’s leadership in the aerospace industry for over five decades, thanks to its quality infrastructure and specialized technical personnel.
The core objectives of the CEA-BC are:
✦ Foster collaboration between large companies and local suppliers.
✦ Strengthen academic programs in coordination with educational institutions.
✦ Promote innovation and technology transfer.
✦ Actively participate in national and international representation spaces.
In addition, the cluster seeks to position Baja California as a strategic point in the space sector, leveraging its proximity to development hubs in California, United States, and encouraging high-impact technological projects.
The event also featured valuable participation from key organizations such as FEMIA (Mexican Federation of the Aerospace Industry) and the Querétaro Aerocluster, who expressed their support and willingness to collaborate in joint initiatives to drive the growth of the aerospace sector at the national level.
At PAIMEX, we are honored to be part of this new stage as a company committed to the industrial and technological development of the state, actively collaborating in this initiative that promotes the growth and competitiveness of the aerospace sector.
We thank all who participated in and supported this important beginning.
The birth of CEA-BC marks a turning point for the aerospace industry in Baja California and consolidates a collaborative platform that will strengthen the region’s global positioning.
