Event Summary (August 20, 2025)
PAIMEX and the Baja California Space and Aeronautics Cluster (CEA-BC) were present at the launch, underscoring the program’s strategic importance for the aerospace sector of which PAIMEX is a part. As a CEA-BC member, PAIMEX reinforces industry–academia–government collaboration in the region.
At the CIIDT of UABC (Autonomous University of Baja California), the High-Tech Certification Program for the Aerospace Sector was presented. Attendees included the President (Rector) Dr. Luis Enrique Palafox Maestre, the Undersecretary Rodolfo Andrade Pelayo, the CEA-BC President Eng. Sergio Pérez Torres, and industry representatives such as Honeywell Aerospace Mexicali.
“The four-to-five-year university model is already obsolete… we must transition to a university for life.” — Dr. Luis Enrique Palafox Maestre, President (Rector) UABC
The program lasts 6 months in a hybrid format and grants digital badges with international validity (in addition to a certificate from the CIIDT). It focuses on advanced manufacturing, component validation, digital transformation, and Industry 4.0.
UABC highlighted its national leadership in micro-credentials and digital badges and the triple helix collaboration (academia–government–industry) in a sector that, in Baja California, brings together 110+ companies and nearly 30,000 jobs. With this initiative, the University strengthens Baja California’s position as a national and international leader in the aerospace industry.
